About the author
Michael Carter Griffin was born on August 5, 1963 in Williamston, a small town in Down East, North Carolina. He is a 1985 accounting graduate of Liberty University in Lynchburg, Virginia. That same year, he started his first job with a local accounting firm in Pinehurst, NC. In 1987, he was hired as Chief Finance Officer (CFO) for Moore County Government in Carthage, where he worked for seventeen years while obtaining his CPA and numerous certifications as a Public Finance Officer. He then worked in for the private sector for three years as CFO for Pine Needles and Mid Pines Resorts in Southern Pines, followed by eight years as CFO for Moore County Schools. He retired in 2015 after a 30-year career.
