People with symptoms of bipolarity try to get help many times, but still get stigmatized and ignored. Bipolar is a serious and misunderstood mental health issue that affects over 7.7 million people in the U.S. alone. The need for early diagnosis and proper treatment is urgent as those who suffer from it face an increased risk of suicide, poverty and homelessness.
As a sufferer herself, Danica Mae Gall provides first-hand experiences of living as a person with bipolar through the eyes of an average millennial – someone who believes that taking action gives hope – and she believes that by changing the adopted mindset about bipolarity and other mental illnesses, the world’s perception about mental health problems will be redefined ultimately bringing the stigmatization to an end.
On this note, Danica is thrilled to announce the release of her book, “Living in a Dream: The Life of Being Bipolar” which depicts events that occurred between January 2019 and August 2020. Danica shares her ordeal as a bipolar patient and all she went through for two years when she experienced both manic and depressive episodes before she was diagnosed of being bipolar.
Speaking about the book, Danica Mae Gall had this to say, “From thinking I was a religious being to deep, dark depressive episodes and everything in between, this book recounts all my bipolar episodes. I hope by reading this that you can gain a better insight into what it is truly like to be Bipolar.”
While readers will learn firsthand what it means to be a bipolar patient, Danica hopes that the book not only serves as a message to stop the mental health stigma but also to help people with symptoms of bipolar seek medical help. “In reading this book, I hope you will be more aware of yourself and others who unknowingly may suffer from Bipolar. I hope that this spreads awareness of what it is like to suffer from Bipolar,” Danica maintained.
One feature of “Living in a Dream: The Life of Being Bipolar” is that the book draws attention to the fact that not all people with bipolar are violent, destructive, and incompetent. These are the common stereotypes associated with the disease, which results people with bipolar to be ashamed of yourself, their condition with other people, especially to strangers.
When symptoms of bipolar disorder, as propounded by medical practitioners and exposed by Danica in her book, are seen in people, they must be taken to seek medical help. “If you recognize symptoms in others or yourself please seek help from a medical professional. Let’s talk about mental health and end the stigma,” concluded Danica.
The book is currently available at www.livinginadream-thelifeofbeingbipolar.com and is sold in three different formats: eBook ($9.99), Paperback ($19.99), and Hardcover ($27.99).
