With a lot of talent but not a lot of money, the Cuban musicians that Dario Alberti played with on his recent trip to Santiago, Cuba need to be heard. With some only making $10 monthly, this could be a great chance to improve the level of their everyday lives.
After learning how to play bongo in the traditional Cuban Son style, Alberti played with a Cuban band, La Banda de Ernesto, and rented a studio to record music with them. The Cuban song, “Lloraras,” was created. In order to return to Cuba and record more songs in the best studio in Santiago, Alberti needs to fund his flight, accommodations, and studio rental.
By supporting this effort, Alberti hopes to bring a better quality of life to these talented musicians that cannot afford to share their talents otherwise. Any additional money left over from the studio rental will go towards the purchase of clothes, equipment, and other necessities for the band.
The Indiegogo campaign, located on the web at https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/la-banda-de-ernesto-the-sound-of-santiago-de-cuba-music , includes a $10 reward for a download of the completed CD by La Banda de Ernesto.
