London, UK – David Goode, widely regarded as one of the UK’s foremost organists, is pleased to announce projects and upcoming performances that continue to demonstrate his exceptional talent and dedication to the art of organ music.
David Goode has long been celebrated for his performances at prestigious venues, including the BBC Proms and Royal Festival Hall, where his interpretations have been met with critical acclaim. This year, he has continued to make his mark with notable performances at the English Music Festival and the London Organs Day, further showcasing his versatility and deep connection to the organ repertoire. His performance of The Planets at St Michael’s Cornhill in May drew an enthusiastic response, and was followed by a popular recent release of the performance on YouTube. He is active as a continuo player (with engagements this year in the London Handel Festival, among others), as a pianist (with recitals including St Mary’s Twickenham), and as a soloist and accompanist in upcoming performances with choral ensembles. Meanwhile, preparations are under way for a recital tour of the US in 2025.
In addition to his live performances, Goode has been active in the recording studio. His recent release of John Pickard’s music has been described by Gramophone magazine as ‘magnificently assured and enviably concentrated’, adding to an impressive discography that includes a complete set of Bach’s organ works and a multi-volume collection of Max Reger’s compositions. His contribution to a recent recording of Dan Locklair’s music with the choir of Royal Holloway was praised by Fanfare magazine as ‘inspirational in its confidence, and admirable in its total technical command and accuracy.’ His recording of Mozart’s organ music for Signum from Trinity College Cambridge is due for release next year. These recordings have solidified his reputation as a leading interpreter of a wide range of repertoire across the centuries.
Looking ahead, David Goode will be performing this autumn at Leeds Cathedral and Portico Arts Centre, Northern Ireland, including his own music and other contemporary repertoire. These performances are highly anticipated and reflect his ongoing commitment to exploring the breadth of the organ’s capabilities.
