Abu Dhabi, UAE – The latest round of International Awards issued by Harvard Business Council (NY, USA) culminated with 60 winners on November 10, 2022. Department of Health – Abu Dhabi was one of our most prolific nominees, submitting four Awards.
The Department of Health – Abu Dhabi is the government of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi’s regulative agency of the healthcare sector, and it stood out for its professionalism, the spirit of innovation, efficiency, attention to detail, and ability to cope with unexpected situations.
At an individual level, H.E. Hind Mubarak Al Zaabi, the Executive Director of Healthcare of the Facilities Sector, reached the Diamond level for the Women Leader Award. She has been part of several projects and initiatives that had a major impact on improving the organization’s performance and reaching the desired goals, such as the e-claims project, which shortened the payment lifecycle for hospitals.
The Department of Health – Abu Dhabi has reached the Gold level for the Project Award by implementing the Abu Dhabi Quality Index – Muashir, a comprehensive quality monitoring framework that was co-created with healthcare providers and other healthcare stakeholders. It is based on innovation, scientific method, integrity, and agility.
The Diamond level was also achieved in the Innovation Award category, as the Department of Health – Abu Dhabi is firmly planning and executing a comprehensive innovation strategy to effectively ensure the incorporation of innovation into its corporate and healthcare sector strategy. Since 2017, the organization has implemented several innovation models, including the Open Innovation Model and Directed Innovation, for specific healthcare challenges, needs, and problems.
Another excellent result was recorded for the Dealing with Covid-19 Award. It reached the Diamond level again, demonstrating a prompt response to the emergency. The Department of Health – Abu Dhabi undertook a business continuity risk assessment across the emirate to identify the critical areas within the emirate to ensure that the correct priorities could be set, and effort and resources channeled correctly. In addition, a specific team was formed to manage and oversee the implementation of controls related to COVID-19 within the blue-collar community.
Harvard Business Council has recognized in the Department of Health – Abu Dhabi a model of excellence and professionalism that can be an inspiration to all those who aim to achieve similar results in the categories in which the leading engineering organization has distinguished itself.
