Dispersing Agent Market Overview –
Dispersing agents are non-surface active polymers widely used for enhancing the separation of particles and clumping prevention. These agents are used as additives in the paint, coating, and ink formulations due to their ability to maintain uniformity in the mixtures. These agents finds application in various end use industries such as building & construction, Paints & coatings, paper & pulp, oil & gas, packaging, and pharmaceuticals among others.
Industry/ Innovation/ Related News-
Dec 19, 2017- BASF SE introduced a solvent free dispersing agent under the brand name Efka FA 4611 for inorganic pigments. This product possesses excellent stabilization properties in composites, industrial coatings, and printing inks. The product is compatible in a wide range of resin systems. It works well with high pigment and filler loading due to strong reduction of mill-base viscosity.
March 28, 2017- Clariant AG, a world leader in Speciality chemicals, introduced a renewable, volatile organic compounds (VOC) free neutralizing agent “Genamin Gluco 50” for waterborne paints. The product will enhance metal protection, improve paints lifetime, and storage ability in all the regions. The demand for VOC free paints is increasing from the automotive sector due to reduced flash rust formation.
April 10, 2018- Solvay exhibited new products at the American Coatings Show under the brand names Rhodafac, Rhodoline WA 265N (VOC free), and Rhodoline OTE 600 for binders, color and performance solutions respectively. These products possesses excellent emulsion stability, improved adhesion, and enhanced color acceptance. Due to stain and water resistance properties, these products will improve the environmental friendly formulations for architectural paints, industrial coatings, and printing inks.
Jan 31, 2018- Pilot Chemical introduced a water soluble, anionic fluorosurfactant under the brand name Masurf FS-3330 which reduces the aqueous surface tension. This product possesses excellent wetting and leveling characteristics and oil repellency.
