PHILADELPHIA, PA – Adrian Rubin, a climatologist in Philadelphia, has created a resource to promote climate change education, promote action of residents in the Philadelphia area to create change, and show compassion toward the environment due to the affects global warming.

The website, www.adrianrubin.org, features news and information to educate citizens on global warming and steps they can take to make a difference. It is designed to create community discussion on the topic of climate awareness in the Philadelphia area as well as the rest of the world. Dr. Rubin and other experts share advice such as ways to live green, how business can lessen their carbon footprint, new discoveries of environmental changes that are the result of climate changes, and ways people can take action to improve the climate change situation. For example, Dr. Rubin recently published an article in which David Buck shares his advice about urban gardening and how these small-scale changes can create a global impact.

Adrian Rubin has spent over 30 years studying the weather, a passion she has had since she was a young child. She completed a 4-year degree in meteorological science with a concentration in climatology at Princeton University and a doctorate in climatology at Cornell University in Ithaca, New York. Dr. Rubin’s current work involves creating advanced computer models of the region’s weather, but she also volunteers as a way to promote climate change awareness to the public, especially citizens in the Philadelphia region. She is especially passionate about educating today’s youth of the long term effects of climate change and global warning since their generation will be facing many challenges regarding climate change in the years to come.
