June 27th, 2018 – Pennsylvania – The excitement that comes with knowledge and certification in one’s career cannot be overemphasized. Drs. Weaver and Reckner were awarded Masters of the Academy of General Dentistry recently, in a convocation ceremony that was held in New Orleans, LA.
Dr. Weaver has been enjoying practicing dentistry for over 25 years — establishing this practice with Dr. Reckner in 1994. Being part of the Weaver-Reckner-Reinhart family, with offices located in both Harleysville and Souderton Pennsylvania, has been the highlight of both their dental careers. Both Dr. Weaver and Dr. Reckner have worked for 27 years to accumulate the continuing education credits for a Masters in the Academy of General Dentistry, which offers a Fellowship Award that both doctors achieved some years ago. This year, Dr. Weaver and Dr. Reckner were awarded the highest honor that the Academy of General Dentistry offers — the Masters of the Academy of General Dentistry (MAGD). From this point forward the doctors will add the MAGD initials following their names.
To be awarded a Masters of the Academy, the dentist must log 1,100 hours of continuing education, 400 hours of which are participation credits and hands-on courses. The credits include 16 disciplines in dentistry and at this point only 1% of dentists have received the Master’s Degree in the Academy of General Dentistry. This year’s convocation ceremony was held in New Orleans, and both Dr. Weaver’s and Dr. Reckner’s families traveled together to celebrate this achievement.
“Dr. Reckner and I are receiving our Masters in the Academy of General Dentistry. Our names will officially change from FAGD to MAGD. The MAGD is a coveted award that only 1% of dentists have been able to earn in the 50 years of existence of the Academy of General Dentistry. So, it’s a big deal for us and for dentistry in our area!” Dr. Weaver exclaimed excitedly about his new qualification. Looking forward, many people will be served in the practice of Weaver, Reckner & Reinhart Dental Associates.
Dr. Weaver resides with his wife, Anne, in Brownstown and they have three adult children out in the world. Anne is a Chaplain at Landis Homes Community. Dr. Weaver has established dental offices in Harleysville and Souderton Pennsylvania.
Dr. Reckner resides with his wife, Carol, in Hilltown and they have four children. Dr. Reckner is a lifelong resident of the BuxMont area, and truly enjoys being part of this community and spending time with his family.
