Ellsworth “Tony” Williams, President and CEO of Veterans Counseling Veterans Inc (VCV), has been honored with induction into the prestigious Florida Veterans Hall of Fame. The recognition acknowledges Williams’ significant contributions to the state of Florida through his tireless efforts in the field of mental wellness and suicide prevention for veterans.

Ellsworth Williams, a proud son of a career Vietnam combat veteran, served in the Army for an impressive 24 years, holding roles both as an enlisted soldier and a commissioned officer. His extensive military background laid the foundation for his passion for supporting veterans and their families  in their mental wellness journey.

Under Williams’ leadership, Veterans Counseling Veterans Inc (VCV), a 501C3 nonprofit organization, has emerged as a beacon of hope for veterans facing mental health challenges. VCV’s primary mission is to prevent veteran suicides through its Model of Teaching, Engagement, Advocacy, Mentoring, and Service (TEAMS).

VCV focuses on several critical areas, including suicide prevention, military sexual trauma, mental health support for families of veterans, women veterans’ mental health, diversity, equity, inclusion, and access, mentorship, and referral services. The organization’s unique approach, guided by the TEAMS model, has proven to be highly effective in reducing the risk of veteran suicides.
