Empower Energy Solutions has helped fund vision restoration surgery for over  2500  with cataracts. In 2020 they partnered with The Himalayan Cataract Project (HCP), a company dedicated to solving preventable blindness due to cataracts in Asia and Sub-Saharan Africa. 

To date, HCP has provided more than 13 million eye health screenings and completed more than a million surgeries. They also provide education and training, source equipment, and develop eye centers around the world. “Eye care is one of the greatest public health challenges for the 21st century,” HCP states, “Of the more than 36 million people worldwide suffering from unnecessary blindness, more than half are due to cataract – which can be surgically treated. Most of these people live in low to middle income countries, where poor nutrition and limited access to eye care can mean a life limited by needless blindness.”

Asim Hafeez, owner of Empower Energy Solutions believes that business should be a source for good in the world. He partnered with HCP because it has a massive impact on people’s lives, their families and communities to be able to have the gift of eyesight back.  It’s also one of the greatest impact returns per dollar donated.  A portion of every solar system that his company installs helps fund a cataract surgery for someone with preventable blindness. 

For Hafeez, businesses giving back is important because he believes business should be a source for good in the world as its primary objective with profit as its secondary objective.

Asim Hafeez

Asim Hafeez is the Owner and Operator of Empower Energy Solutions, a Solar Installation company.  Solar is their product, but Asim considers Empower Energy a people company, putting employees and customers at the center of everything they do.  He is also the Owner of Bamboo Tech and Apex Construction. He is a real estate and early stage and growth investor and is a GP or LP in over 50 companies. Born in Pakistan, he moved to the US at 10 years old, knowing no English. With the support and sacrifice of his parents, he started in performance based pay at 18 years old and was managing several thousand people by 21 years old. He has managed over 10,000 people in various roles throughout his career. He is devoted to his wife and son, and enjoys reading for education and traveling the world.
