COLUMBUS, OH – #Friedays launched in 2017 as a Food Truck, as a Gourmet Loaded French Fry concept, has announced it plans to expand in multiple cities over the next 24 months, including additional Columbus locations, Chicago, L.A. and Youngstown, Ohio, as well as professional and collegiate sports arenas and stadiums.
#Friedays is innovative concept of Owner and CEO Michael Moses. Locations will serve original recipes of fries topped with assorted ingredients to create unique specialties worthy of a meal.
After just a few weeks on the food truck circuit, visiting corporate offices during lunch hours, breweries for dinner service and catering special events, #Friedays immediately became a city favorite and was voted one of the top 3 Food Trucks in the Columbus area by the Columbus Dispatch’s Top Picks. One of the favorites is the “Brutus the Buckfry” option that features a straight cut French Fry topped with ground beef, melted cheddar cheese, bacon, mayonnaise and ketchup. “It’s essentially a bacon cheeseburger and fries all in one dish, by get rid of the bun!” commented one #FryFan. Another hit is the “The Fresh Prince” which starts with a waffle cut fry and is then topped with ground sirloin, a melted gourmet cheese blend, and finished with sautéed peppers and onions. #Friedays specialties get even more unique with options for those with a sweet tooth. The “Heeey Sweetie!” offers maple syrup, powdered sugar and cinnamon atop a bed of sweet potato fries. Two serving sizes are available, ranging from $5.00-$9.00.
Reported below a short Q&A with Michael Moses, Friedays Owner and CEO, to better understand this innovative concept and the reason of Friedays business success.
Q. How is #Friedays differentiating from its competition?
A. We’re extremely big on providing a customer experience that is unforgettable. Of course, the fries are amazing, but as a consumer, your experience starts long before you eat a single fry. We understand the intricacies of true customer service and we focus on that as our primary goal. You can find good food pretty much anywhere, but you can’t find unforgettable experiences everywhere.
Q. Besides the expansion plans described above, which other growth plans do you have for #Friedays?
A. Franchising is something that will structurally begin to be built out at some point in 2020. I don’t have a hard date on that start date yet, because there are so many other moving parts, but we’ve already started conversations on partnering in concessions with multiple NBA, NFL & MLB Arenas & Stadiums, which will increase the brand awareness that will tie into franchisee demand throughout those individual cities. We’re currently receiving inquiries and building a waiting list of people to contact when the time is right.
Q. Which is #Friedays mission?
A. #Friedays has two missions. 1. We want to provide an experience that you and your family will always remember and have that experience be tied to the #Friedays brand. We want you to enjoy yourself from top to bottom, over and over again. 2. Through “The #Friedays Foundation”, we want to return the blessings that we’ve been afforded back to our communities we’re located in. We have a partnership with the Ohio Dept of Corrections for our “Restored Citizens” initiative and we’re hiring people who need assistance with reacclimating and restoring themselves back in the communities that they live. We want to help lower recidivism and also give them the necessary resources to become productive citizens and then they pay it forward at some point.
