Manhattan, New York (April 20, 2018) – Meghalaya is one of the north eastern states in India that contributes a great share to the country’s malaria rates. In fact, India is in the fourth position among the world nations when it comes to deaths that occur out of malaria as per the report submitted by the World Health Organization in the year 2017.
As eradicating Malaria is the corporate social responsibility of NeoDocto Foundation, the CEO of the company Mr. Madhukar Sanneerappa is traveling in India for creating awareness about the Malaria Eradication Program initiated by the company and how it will benefit various states in India to reduce the number of deaths caused by Malaria. Now, he is traveling in the state of Meghalaya and he is meeting many dignitaries in the state to explain the spread of Malaria in the state and how to take measures to overcome it and also prevent it.
In this process, Mr. Madhukar met the Health & Family Welfare Minister of the state of Meghalaya, Mr. Alexander Laloo Hek. Mr. Hek is serving for the Cabinet of Government of Meghalaya as the Health & Family Welfare Minister in the ministry of Mr. Conrad Sangma, the Chief Minister of the state. He took charge of the ministry in the state on the 9th of March 2018.
During this very important meeting with the minister, Mr. Madhukar Sanneerappa explained about the incidence and deaths caused by Malaria disease in Meghalaya. He further congratulated the Government for considerable decrease in the number of malaria associated deaths year after year through state initiative programs. However, as there is a lot of gap to be filled up to eradicate malaria from Meghalaya, he told that Neodocto foundation is full heartedly ready to provide its support to achieve this humongous goal.
Also, this deadly disease is taking the lives of young children and carrying moms in the state and the same should be handled with iron hand. He further explained about the Malaria Eradication Program on NeoDocto and how the program will educate the people on preventing this deadly disease spreading and causing deaths in the state. He stressed upon the importance of doubling the resources in hilly and damp areas to prevent the breeding of female anopheles mosquitos.
