Bio

Prior to 2021, former members of Canadian rock band The Mailman’s Children joined forces with other artists to record 23 original songs. At the top of 2021, the newly formed Pop Rock band surfaced as Hello Fiasco.

Hello Fiasco is considered Canadian-American because its frontman Eric LaBossiere (born Canadian) lives in Helena, Montana (USA). The rest of the band lives in Winnipeg, including Joel Couture (bass), Joel Perreault (lead guitars/backing vocals), Ivan Burke (drums), and Guy Abraham (keys/Ableton/backing vocals).

The band’s debut album “Find The Shoreline” was co-produced by both LaBossiere and award-winning producer John Paul Peters (Propagandhi, Comeback Kid, Faouzia, Cancer Bats, Begonia). Notably, the album was mastered by American Grammy-winning engineer Randy Merrill of Sterling Sound (Imagine Dragons, Cage The Elephant, Muse, Bieber, Adele, Lady Gaga).

Because the band prides itself on coming from the side of Pop Rock where the quality of lyrics, music, and originality still stands for something, HF has been compared to Panic! At The Disco, Fall Out Boy, The Killers, Franz Ferdinand, and David Bowie. HF’s first performances include a sold-out headlining show at Canada’s renowned Festival du Voyageur, as well as an opening slot for The Watchmen, I Mother Earth, and Bif Naked at Winnipeg’s Burt Block Party. The band is currently in the process of scheduling its first North American tour dates for 2023 and 2024, with a few shows already scheduled for Canada.

Q&A With The Artist

How did you start in the music business?

Let’s get to know Hello Fiasco from Canada; a band that has come across to the United States with their music. The band members include Eric LaBossiere (lead vocals, rhythm guitar), Joel Perreault (lead guitar, backing vocals), Joel Couture (bass), Ivan Burke (drums, backing vocals), Guy Abraham (keys, synths, Ableton, and backing vocals). The band is definitely worth hearing live as the chemistry between its members is unparalleled. Please listen to the song on their debut album “Find The Shoreline” and let us know your thoughts.

How would you describe the music that you typically create? Our music is Pop Rock with a mix of both electric-driven and acoustic numbers. Most people have compared us to current or past artists like Panic At The Disco, The Killers and Fall Out Boy, Franz Ferdinand, and David Bowie.

What is the current project about? We are a Canadian-American pop-rock band who is excited to play on big stages and have our music in Hollywood movies. Yes, we do it for fun and love music, but we are also a little older now so we treat it more like a business and act on our ambition a lot more. What is your creative process like? I (Eric) write the lyrics and first draft of all songs, in Helena, MT. Then I email a demo of the song to the guys in Canada and they work on it before I get up there. Then, when we are in the studio, we get to hear it all together for the first time. This is when the guys and our co-producer John Paul Peters add their magic and bring the song to life. If you could go open a show for any artist who would it be? We would love to open for the Muse, The Killers, Cold Play, Pearl Jam, and Panic At The Disco. Do you sing in the shower? Yes! All of the time because the natural reverb is amazing. What songs? I usually sing whatever our newest song is, but if not, It would be something by Vedder or Cornell. What would you be doing right now, if it wasn’t for your music career? We have several members, but for me (Eric, lead singer) I would be fishing or hiking.

Where have you performed? Our first show Hello Fiasco was all in Canada, What are your favorite and least favorite venues? No comment.

Do you have any upcoming shows? We are currently booking US and Canadian shows for late 2023 and 2024, in support of our debut album “Find The Shoreline.” Shows will be announced in a couple of months.

How do you feel the Internet has impacted the music business? There are definite pros and cons. I think that most musicians are ecstatic about the fact their music is so much more accessible around the world… because of the internet. But on the other side, most of us aren’t very happy about the fact that streaming payouts have been allowed to remain so low since considering the fact that almost all listens are online now. The money we used to all earn from physical sales has drastically diminished with the internet takeover, and the government has not done much in terms of stepping in to make sure that the rules involving payment for streams are changed, as to make sure that musicians are properly be compensated for their art.
