People all over the world have become aware of the benefits offered by Yoga, the ancient Indian way of staying fit and mindful. Even a number of researches have shown that doing regular Yoga leads to better mental, physical and intellectual health. It’s even better if it’s adopted as a lifestyle habit during the childhood years. This will not only impact the children’s health in a positive way but also inspire them to become more mindful in life. While about 370 schools in England have introduced mindfulness as a regular subject, it is difficult to incorporate regular practices outside of school, that foster both physical and mental health. This is why Jai Jais Yoga Cards are created.
Jai Jais Yoga cards are a pack of 26 cards with each letter of the alphabet depicting a Yoga pose with colorful and vivid images of Hindu gods and goddesses. The cards launched on the crowdfunding platform Kickstarter have received good responses from the backers but it’ll only be funded, if it reaches its goal of $20,210 by November 18th. The other side of the card features a child doing the Yoga pose along with a mantra to help the children remember the poses.
The cards also come with a 44-page color guide that provides tips and techniques on using the cards. It encourages the children to express their emotions positively and evolve their inner strength. The guide also contains information on Origins of Yoga, the steps to doing the Surya Namaskar (Sun salutations) and the Chakras (a Sanskrit word that simply means a wheel). The 7 chakras are said to provide the right balance of energy to every part of the body, mind, and spirit. By learning about the 7 chakras, one can become more in tune with the natural energy cycles of their body.
Jai Jais Yoga cards are aimed to empower children to be fit, calmer, more confident and tolerant. Through the power of Yoga, it can help the children in improving their focus and concentration skills. By incorporating the healthy habit of Yoga in their everyday life, children will also move away from TVs, Smartphones, and tablets. It will teach the kids to connect to their roots and develop a spiritual perspective towards life. These cards can also be used by teachers, Yoga instructors and parents to provide a visual aid to their children while teaching them about Yoga.
Jai Jais Yoga cards are developed by a Sunita Shah, a mother and published author of children’s books, with the help of her friend Deepa Shah, a skilled Yoga teacher. Jai Jais cards are an attempt to drive children from a cocooned life in front of the small screens to opening up ‘chakras’ to more creativity, peacefulness and much better and sound health.
