Journeying with Carbon Emission Reduction Express – NHU’s Quest for Sustainability

A severe heatwave sweeps through multiple regions, breaking temperature records. These unusual weather events serve as a wake-up call for us, emphasizing the importance of energy conservation. We invite you to join the NHU Emission Reduction Special Train, which will lead us towards a “low-carbon future”. This train’s journey spans from “Green Chemistry, Responsible Care” to a “Sustainable Future.” Fasten your seat belts and come along with us on this sustainable adventure.

First stop – Green Chemistry and Responsible Care

NHU has consistently embraced green, recycling, and low-carbon development with deep respect for nature, striving to achieve effective carbon reduction throughout its production and operational processes.

Environmental protection is not an optional consideration but a crucial aspect that requires maintaining balanced relationships with all stakeholders and harmonizing with the environment, serving as the fundamental core to an enterprise’s sustainable development. Rooted in the concept of “Green Chemistry and Responsible Care”, NHU has integrated the high atomic economy working methods and the concept of environmental factors into its practices, actively exploring ways to achieve a balance between “enterprise and nature, industry and resources”.

We opt for products with low emission, low energy consumption, and high value-added and apply advanced techniques like green synthesis, enzyme catalysis, and bio-fermentation in the process, using advanced production equipment that is sealed, automated, informationized, and intelligent. To ensure an environmentally responsible approach to waste management, we have introduced eco-friendly solutions, including Siemens VIR sewage treatment and Dürr RTO from Germany, and low-temperature plasma from Canada.

Second stop – “Peace of Mind” Food

Beneath the surface of meat, eggs, and milk lies a concerning truth – the livestock industry emits a staggering 65 million tons of nitrogen annually, which is equivalent to 1/3 of human nitrogen emissions. These various nitrogen emissions not only impact soil and water quality but also generate greenhouse gas nitrous oxide (N,O) that possesses a GWP 273 times greater than carbon dioxide.

To address these environmental challenges, NHU actively advocates for the “soybean meal reduction” initiative by focusing on the production, marketing, and research of methionine, vitamins, and other nutritional additives, aiming to provide low-protein dietary technology solutions to reduce and replace soybean meal, thereby decreasing the dependence of breeding enterprises on imported soybeans and promoting a greener and healthier industry trajectory.

DL-Methionine plays a vital role in assisting farmers to reduce the crude protein content in animal diets without compromising animal performance. This results in significant reductions in nitrogen excretion and greenhouse gas emissions.

Third stop – Green Key

NHU maximizes the potential of new materials and fosters the synergy between new materials and new energy. In the realm of green industry, technology, manufacturing, and energy utilization, NHU actively endeavors to embed the ecological essence of high-quality development through tangible actions.

Taking a source-oriented approach, NHU strives to enhance the energy efficiency of products through innovative research and development, foster the advancement of new energy sources, and diminish the carbon footprint across the entire product life cycle. We aim to infuse people’s lives with green products, laying the foundation for a sustainable future.

In the realm of new materials, the PPS materials developed and manufactured by NHU find extensive applications in the field of wind power generation, converting every gust of wind into electricity and delivering green energy to countless households.

Moreover, PPS resins and LFT materials are integrated into automotive parts to achieve lightweight vehicles, thus reducing fuel consumption and CO2 emissions, while promoting green mobility.

Additionally, PPS fiber grade resin is employed in the production of industrial dust bags, boosting filtration efficiency to over 99.995%, further decreasing the concentration of industrial flue gas emissions, resulting in clearer skies and fresher air.

Terminal stop – Sustainable Future

NHU is at the forefront of combining greening with digitalization, driving the digital transformation while promoting ecological advancement. Our vision is to witness more breathtaking scenes in the pursuit of a “Beautiful China”.

At Zhejiang Shangyu Base, a comprehensive, scientific, objective, and practical odor evaluation system has been established. Sampling points have been strategically placed in workshops and warehouses, connected to a central monitoring station that tracks real-time emissions of toluene, methanol, methylene chloride, and other exhaust gases. This system allows for the evaluation, tracing, and early warning of odor pollution, effectively addressing the challenge of supervising odor-related issues and providing invaluable technological support for environmental management.

The Heilongjiang base has implemented the SUPUS system, which continuously monitors the energy consumption during production and operations, aiming to enhance the precision of energy management at the base and establish a robust, energy-efficient, green, and low-carbon energy supply system.

The spotlight is now on global warming, moving it from the background to the forefront. NHU remains committed to the principles of “green development”. We will persist in combating climate change through technological advancements, and we urge every earth inhabitant to unite in protecting our home. Thank you for joining the NHU Emission Reduction Express. Have a pleasant journey, and until we meet again!
