Lee Chambers, the British businessman and founder of Male Allies UK, took to the stage this week at the Grand Palais Éphémère in Paris. The Palais hosted the ChangeNOW Summit, the largest solutions for the planet event, across three full days in March. During the three days, ChangeNOW brings together the most innovative solutions and impactful changemakers tackling our planet’s biggest challenges, to take action, together, and builds bridges and creates opportunities for thousands of key actors of change.
Across the three days, over 35,000 attendees entered the summit to explore systemic change, from social to environmental, learning from those at the cutting edge of innovation and social impact. This year’s speakers included Paul Polman, Kate Williams and Hafsat Abiloa.
The Women for Change 2024 conference brought together the campaign and the initiative’s flagship event for an entire evening celebrating women changemakers.
The session unveiled the official exhibition of the 25 portraits of women honoured in 2024, enabling new conversations around sponsorship and exploration of initiatives set up by individuals and organizations committed to taking a stand on the importance of recognizing women as true drivers of change, who deserve visibility and to have fair access to key resources.
The event talked about alliances, empowerment and shared leadership, as a vehicle to discover and explore the major levers that can be activated to reduce the structural inequalities between men and women, and bring out promising changemakers in a world in need of new role models.
On speaking at ChangeNOW, Chambers said, “It was a pleasure to be a part of such an inspiring event that explored actions, rather than words. The collaborations that were forged in the room will last for much longer than the summit, yet it is that very room where it started. Given the work of Male Allies UK, being a part of the Women for Change ecosystem is exciting and has the potential to amplify our work. I’m already looking forward to implementing what I learned from the event in our work.”
