The British entrepreneur and psychologist is joining the East Lancs Chamber for the event held a the Crow Wood Hotel.

Lee Chambers, the British psychologist and founder of Essentialise Workplace Wellbeing, is speaking at the menopause event hosted by the East Lancs Chamber of Commerce in March. The event is being held at the Crow Wood Hotel & Spa Resort in Burnley, and is focused on creating a wider business case for menopause awareness and support in the workplace. With an expected attendance of at least 200 HR and business leaders from across the North, it provides a significant opportunity to learn best practices, why menopause should be part of a wellbeing strategy, and how to effectively support those impacted both in and out of the workplace.

The showcase event will also see talks from other specialists in the areas of health and employment, including Bev Thorogood of Floresco and Emma Swan of Forbes. A variety of areas will be covered, including the physiological and psychological impact of the menopause, how to normalise conversations and create space for support, how data is beginning to show the true economic impact of a lack of provision, and the future landscape, including employment law examples. The forum will also provide real case studies and individuals sharing their journies and a chance to discuss subjects with speakers and network with influential guests.

Lee Chambers Keynote speaker

On speaking at the event, Lee Chambers commented, “I’m passionate about raising the awareness of the impact of the menopause both personally and professionally, especially among men. It is not always easy to relate to something you won’t personally encounter, and yet it indirectly impacts all men at some point in their lives. Having an awareness and level of understanding is important in normalising conversations and being able to be compassionate and supportive, and with the menopause being a factor in a lack of diversity at senior and board level, and businesses losing talented women due to a lack of support, this is an important moment in changing the narrative to one of allyship, support and empathy.”

The event will take place on the 1st of March at 9:00am GMT, and is entitled “Is the menopause costing your business money?” It is a fully inclusive event for all ages and genders, and will be especially useful for senior people managers, HR professionals and those who lead teams. The event can be booked through the Chamber of Commerce website.
