FLORIDA – The Lupus Foundation of Florida presents the Orlando Walk for Life without Lupus. The Walk for Life without Lupus increases community awareness of this debilitating disease. Funds raised support research as well as the educational and public policy advocacy efforts of the Lupus Foundation of Florida. Lupus is an autoimmune, chronic, inflammatory disease in which the immune system mistakenly attacks healthy tissues and organs. There is no cure for lupus. Education for patients, providers and caregivers is essential in the management of lupus. There is no definitive test for diagnosing lupus. There is no cure. Lupus affects 1.5 million people in the United States, and 100,000 in Florida.

About Lupus Foundation of Florida
Founded in 1979, the Lupus Foundation of Florida serves Floridians affected by lupus through education, advocacy and research. As part of the Lupus Research Alliance network, we work for the day when life without lupus will be a reality. Funding for lupus research is critical. With your help, we will find a cure.
“Lupus Foundation of Florida support groups are places where you can speak freely about the challenges of living with lupus with others who are facing the similar struggles and challenges. Our groups are positive places! We learn from and support one another on the journey.”
