Hannie Schaft was ‘an intensely focused and fearless super-spy whose drive and tenacious work to resist and fight, brought down many Nazi leaders and collaborators, and saved the lives of many refugees and Jewish families in hiding,’ according to a description released by Pendragon Pictures.
Director Timothy Hines and producer/co-writer Susan Goforth are set to film the extraordinary tale of three courageous girls who served as super-agents for the Dutch resistance in World War II. Scheduled to start filming in spring 2024, the movie explores the lives of Hannie Schaft, Freddie Oversteegen, and Truus Oversteegen, revealing their exceptional bravery and sacrifices during the Nazi occupation of The Netherlands. As resistance fighters against Hitler, they worked tirelessly to thwart the hatred and fascism of the Nazis. The film will be co-produced by Goforth and Matt Silver.

“Lydia is going to be a big star,” says director Timothy Hines, “Lydia is driven to create and act. She just finished her own 15 minute short and is not one to sit between films. It’s just a matter of time before she is world known and we’re just so happy to have her be a big part of this important movie.”

“The film Teenage Girls Who Killed Nazis serves as a poignant reminder of the bravery exhibited by individuals like Hannie Schaft, Freddie, and Truus Oversteegen, a powerful true story to inspire audiences to resist hate and injustice,” relates director Timothy Hines, “I’m excited to have Lydia portraying Hannie Schaft. Lydia is a dynamo, and audience response to her is off the charts, in the same way, I’d say, that people responded to the real Hannie Schaft in her day. Lydia has an inspiring quality, a toughness that is essential for the character of Hannie Schaft.”
Teenage Girls Who Killed Nazis begins filming in Europe and the UK this spring and will stand as a testament to the indomitable spirit of those who fought against tyranny, leaving a lasting impact on future generations.
