“I’ve been writing short stories for most of my life,” Marcus said. “But it wasn’t until December 2020, in my early 70s, that I came alive as a regular writer. Writing has been a passion of mine for as long as I can remember, and I’m thrilled to have my work published finally.”
Marcus has been publishing his stories on allpoetry.com, where his work has received critical acclaim from readers. One of his fans on allpoetry.com, commented on Marcus’s work, “I’ve been reading Marcus’s stories and poems for years, and they always leave me in awe. Marcus shares that one of his favorite poems from his upcoming book is “A Young Soldier’s Worse Experience In Vietnam, In The Summer Of 1967”. The story features the life of a young soldier, who faced life-changing events in Vietnam, which affected him throughout his life. The emotional story pays tribute to people who faced such situations, recognizing the impacts these unforgettable experiences had on the lives of such individuals while highlighting the importance of providing support to help them heal.
Another story that Marcus thinks will be loved by his fans is “Old images, New images”. This was the first story he wrote in November 1998, about a fictional character named Charles Ritcher, who faced abuse and religious extremism during his childhood. As he grew, Charles got fascinated with causing harm to others, eventually turning into a serial killer and getting convicted for his crimes. The story highlights the importance of a nurturing and supportive environment in shaping a person’s life and the dangers of unresolved psychological issues.
