Medium Deborah Livingston explains the Effects of Nature on our Human Being

“The stress of an unpleasant environment can cause us to feel anxious, or sad, or helpless. This, in turn, elevates our blood pressure, heart rate, and muscle tension and suppresses our immune system.”
Intuitive Medium Deborah Livingston, as seen on WBZ news and featured on the cover of OMTimes Magazine, explains the effects of nature on our human being, offering guidance regarding the shared consciousness between nature, mankind, the elements, and animals.

Deborah Livingston, is an award-winning International Psychic Medium on Best American Psychics, Animal Communicator, Author of Strand of Pearls, Mentor and a Shaman.  Deborah walks us through the effects of nature in relation to the human body, mind, and spirit, explaining the physical and spiritual impacts of each.

There is a shared consciousness between nature, man, elements and animals. Our human nature has become more and more robot like due to relying on our devices and internet. Our human connections to each other and nature are diminishing. We are ultimately stressed by the demands we put upon ourselves, leaving us extraordinarily unbalanced, sick, diseased and detached from our human nature. This out of alignment from nature can be reversed by simply connecting with ourselves (a part of nature), our body’s signals and the great outdoors sending the temple of our spirit (our physical body, mind and soul) back to optimal wellbeing.

Chief Seattle said, “All things share the same breath; the beast, the tree, the man. The air shares its spirit with all the life it supports.” Our spirits can be lifted by spending time in nature, for Mother Nature can share her Power until we are able to find our way back to our own. Research reveals that different types of environments can increase or reduce our stress, which in turn impacts our bodies. What you are seeing, hearing, feeling and experiencing at any moment is changing not only our mood, but how our nervous, endocrine, and immune systems are working.

The stress of an unpleasant environment can cause us to feel anxious, or sad, or helpless. This in turn elevates our blood pressure, heart rate, and muscle tension and suppresses our immune system. A pleasant environment (nature) and listening to what our body tells us reverses that. Nature heals, soothes and restores us back to our shared consciousness and becoming mindful again of our own human nature. Let’s wash our spirit clean with nature. Here are some ways to re-connect.

Shift Thinking: We need to become mindful that nature is not just something on the outside in our environment, but is a part of our very human being. The same water that flows in the in the ocean runs through yours and my bloodstream. The same vitamins and minerals in nature are the very substance from which our bones and body are built. The oxygen that we breathe is from a symbiotic relationship between humans, trees and animal in which we all provide the necessary element for one another to live and thrive. The inner flame that burns to heat up our body is the same fire in any flame even the sun. Our bodies are created from nature and at the end of this incarnation/life we give our physical bodies back to Mother Earth and our spirit returns home. Through meditation and physically going outdoors, we naturally connect with our extended body. We can extend our time here on Earth by maintaining our connection to nature and keeping our body healthy.

Make Friends with the Elements: We can take a swim in the ocean, lake, go camping or hiking. We can bring our exercise out doors and breathe in the pure air. This gets us into nature. Many of my friends and myself have learned about crystals and minerals and their healing powers. We keep them in our indoor spaces along with plants. It is bringing the energy of nature along with us. In addition, we can become familiar with the different types of trees, plants, flowers, animals and all of life’s creatures. Listen to the wind, birds take in the sights, sounds or lack thereof. Feel the energy of the consciousness of our collective nature.

Sky Gaze Day and Night: Looking skyward can be a tool to transcend space-time and the reality we have created. Our predecessors from many ancient civilizations looked to the stars for guidance and power. We are made up of stardust and learning about the stars can take us beyond the mundane and into supreme consciousness. Just like we used to do when we were children, cloud-gazing is a fun form of meditation. Looking at the moon and into the stars of our infinite Universe brings pure peace.  Look to the sky for that which is already within you, pure energy and nature.

Bare Foot and Hug a Tree: Our skin breathes and absorbs vitamins and minerals from the earth. If we go barefoot on the beach and swim in the ocean the negative ions from the natural salts in the sand and sea are said to have amazing healing effects on the body. If we’re not near the sand, simply digging our feet into the dirt or soil can be of benefit. Hugging a tree and absorbing their energy grounds us and is a magnificent way to become one again with nature.

Listen to Our Body: Our own natural state is most important. When we are tired sleep. When we are sick rest. When we are hungry eat. When our soul speaks it’s desires listen and act.

Stanford led a specific study on the effects of nature on the human brain. Findings were published in: Proceedings of the National Academy of Science. The study determined that more than ½ of our population lives in urban or city dwellings. Just as becoming urbanized and disconnecting from nature, we have grown dramatically dependent upon our devices, have developed mental disorders, sickness and are out of harmony within our human nature itself. The study’s findings were that time in nature was found to have a positive effect on mood, health and aspects of cognitive function, including working memory, as well as a reduction of stress and anxiety. The effects nature have on the human spirit have proved to be immensely positive.

“I go to nature to be soothed and healed, and to have my senses put in order.” John Burroughs We are part of nature and nature is part of us. A free flowing river is a happy river. Trees blow in the wind without a care in the world and stand in ground of their own power. Animals are free from judgment and social conditioning. Birds sing songs of freedom and joy. We are all part of this whole natural existence and by restricting ourselves to devices, robots dirty air and negative environments pulls us away from our natural state. Nature is our Mother. Nature is our healer and soothes our soul. By giving ourselves permission to spend more time with her we enable ourselves to move back into positive, healing energy and our own natural state of being.
