Having been studying in Hangzhou, capital of East China’s Zhejiang province for five years, Hassna Ennami, a Moroccan PhD student at Zhejiang University, said she has developed a special connection with the city.
“Hangzhou’s perfect integration of modernity and tradition has enchanted me and motivated me to discover more about it,” said Ennami recalling her initial days in the city.
She said that she enjoys visit renowned or niche scenic spots in Hangzhou, such as West Lake, the Grand Canal, and sports venues for the 19th Asian Games Hangzhou 2022, and likes sharing what she has seen or heard in Hangzhou on the internet.
The various scenic spots in Hangzhou have also witnessed the love story of Ennami and her husband develop.
Ennami has immersed herself in various cultural experiences, such as practicing taichi, trying Chinese calligraphy, and making traditional handicrafts.
Ennami is also keen on learning Mandarin and improving her proficiency in speaking the language. She said she prefers watching movies, listening to music, and chatting with Chinese friends to practice.
Ennami has grasped the preferential policies offered by the International Talent Hub in Linping district since they were introduced in 2020 and started a company importing Moroccan goods to China with her husband.
“I hope I can do my part to contribute to the development of both China and Morocco,” Ennami said.
