Acknowledging the trust placed in him by both locals and tourists in the greater Maryland, DC and Virginia areas, Mr. Cephas has decided to embark on his next business venture, founding an events platform geared towards the specific needs of the aforementioned crowds.
In a recent profile published in Afro, the online portal for all things Maryland, Washington, DC, and Virginia Mr. Cephas, speaks of the current situation of the club scene in the three states he is active in events promotion, said that “Gentrification is at an all-time high. One thing that I’ve noticed that was missing in the area was you have a lot of locals who feel like where they are currently at is taken by a new group of people. Tourists feel very boxed in because all they know is the typical touring spot. As a tourist, you want to maximize your time spent to come out here.”
He further commented on the reasons that led him to launch his own platform, and the factors that will render it unique – namely, owing to his own, hands-on experience in diverse events promotion, saying “I’m not just showcasing it from one point of view… I’ve experienced multicultural, Caucasian, Hispanic and urban events, concerts, festivals, you name it. I’ve had the luxury to be able to attend, be a part of and do business with many events to now be able to showcase it on one platform.”
Mr. Cephas is currently promoting events on his social media throughout the weekends, with the exception of special events attended by major celebrities during a weekday. He can be found attending “at least three of the events he promotes” on a weekly basis, as a means of overtly providing his seal of approval to their notoriety and excellence.
