Manhattan, New York – 1st Mar, 2018 – The ‘Ministry of Health’, Government of Goa, India and ‘NeoDocto Foundation’ partnered with a ‘Strategic Collaboration’ to implement ‘NeoDocto Malaria Eradication Programme’ to educate and create awareness on malaria disease and its impact on human beings. The Global President and CEO of NeoDocto Inc., Madhukar Sanneerappa stated that NeoDocto continues to partner with State Governments, Non-Government Organizations, celebrities and Individuals to stop malaria disease. The objective of ‘NeoDocto Malaria Eradication Programme’ is to educate and prevent malaria disease through health education.
Nearly half of the world is at risk of malaria. As per the Directorate General of Health Service, Government of India, about 95% population in the country resides in malaria endemic areas and 80% of malaria reported in the country is confined to areas consisting 20% of population residing in tribal, hilly, difficult and inaccessible areas. However, cases in Goa are few and there has been a huge decline over the years. The Strategic Collaboration of NeoDocto Foundation and Ministry of Health, Government of Goa aims to educate the Goa population to take necessary preventive measures to stop malaria disease and reduce its impact.
NeoDocto Malaria Eradication Programme educates about malaria and emphasises on the preventive measures. Malaria disease can be prevented with ‘Early case detection and prompt treatment’, Use of Indoor residual spray with insecticides, use of mosquito repellent creams, liquids, coils, mats, etc., Environmental management and source reduction with proper covering of stored water.
Vishwajit Pratapsingh Rane is an Indian politician and a Cabinet Minister in the Government of Goa headed by Manohar Parrikar. He is the Honourable Minister of Health, Government of Goa since 12th April 2017. The state of Goa is considered as one of the best performing states in the aspect of health and medical care with most extensive health systems in India. NeoDocto Foundation will provide additional support along with the existing Government programmes to stop malaria.
