New book "Abyss of Tyranny" by Justin Cook is released, a scathing look at injustice in the United States and the path to finding wholeness outside of broken systems

“Abyss of Tyranny – When the System Strikes Back” by Justin Cook has been released worldwide. This 340-page work of narrative non-fiction tackles a myriad of troubling truths about the American justice system, the lasting effects of incarceration, and the brutal true story of vindictive officials and destructive policies that sought to ruin the author as he tried to rebuild his life.

A continuation of Cook’s first book, the bestselling “Infectious Injustice,” this gut-wrenching second part of the saga follows the author’s experiences after his release from San Quentin, where the haunting effects of living in prison became the least of his worries. Through Cook’s painful journey through policies meant to keep individuals trapped in cycles of control, dealings with vengeful officers, internal struggles with isolation, and constant harassment from every angle, readers also get a window into the broader injustices facing citizens throughout the country.

Cook’s candid, descriptive writing creates a compelling tale of unchecked authority, serving as a wake up call for all readers about the horrors of the nation’s criminal justice system – as well as the tendrils of corruption and abuse that spread into other areas of government, public policy, and beyond.

While the indictments presented in the book are bleak, the author also shares his triumphant path back to a place of stability and normalcy, despite the obstacles thrown at him from every direction. Just as Cook’s story is a personal account that reflects much larger systemic problems, his ability to heal and grow shows how others can do the same.

A truly thrilling, eye-opening read from cover to cover, this story is both infuriating and empowering, providing an honest look at rampant injustice across the United States and a hopeful message of humanity’s ability to overcome these awful conditions.

Abyss of Tyranny (ISBN: 9781963844214) can be purchased through retailers worldwide, including Barnes and Noble and Amazon. The paperback retails for $16.99, and the ebook retails for $2.99. Review copies and interviews are available upon request.
