New novel “Old News” by Christopher Parks is released, focusing on a 1960s mysterious, unsolved death of a man

Old News has been released worldwide. The 246-page novel tells a story set in the 1960s and 1990s of how a young African American man “killed” himself in a small town’s General Store. The book considers what was “old” news to several different groups of people but which is actually “new” news even today. This is the author’s debut novel.

From the back cover:

Old News is the story of how a young and hungry, though slightly disgraced, news journalist goes on a quest to find the truth about the thirty-year unsolved mystery surrounding a black man’s death in the sixties. In the process, he reveals much. Through his investigation the journalist uncovers the rich and complex inner world of a brilliant man who was taken from the world too soon. Also, this endeavor uncovers the dark truth about the victim’s manipulative killer. Through many plot twists we see a story of brotherly love, betrayal, forgiveness, hope, and the timeless search for justice.

“This book was a labor of love and determination that took (after hundreds of iterations) over four years to complete,” said author Christopher Parks.

Old News (ISBN: 9781733473293) can be purchased through retailers worldwide, including barnesandnoble.com and Amazon. The paperback retails for $14.99. Wholesale orders are available through Ingram.
