Coming soon worldwide is a magnificent version of “Maharaja.” Inspired by the original game 2004 Spiel des Jahres Nomine, a classic hit renowned for its elegance and stimulating gameplay, “Maharaja” is expected to deliver significant improvements for high-quality gameplay. Developed by legendary game designers Wolfgang Kramer and Michael Kiesling, this re-development by Simone Luciani gives “Maharaja” remastered scoring titles, bonus pieces, and new characters, with adapted victory point scoring mechanisms and a greater depth of play.
Suited for two to four players, this interactive hit requires a real-time strategy to build up the seven cities of India with statues and shrines to win the favor of King Maharaja, who visits each turn randomly. Visiting the seven cities of his empire, players must predict his movements, reach their target city, and build shrines and statues to make King Maharaja’s visit remarkable. Each round, players secretly choose two actions that affect gameplay. Secret actions can allow players to gain money, build shrines, swap characters, or even change the order of King Maharaja’s visits. Actions are resolved in turn order, predetermined by a number on the player’s character tile, which also conveys unique abilities and powers that shape gameplay.
While the journey to glory is long, the new edition of “Maharaja” provides hours of fun and entertainment, challenging players around the world to move from city to city, disseminate their paths with shrines, and raise magnificent statues to win. “Maharaja” comes at its best, with no need for quality enhancements or add-ons. “Maharaja” comes with an eight-fold map board, four personal boards, action select discs, over 100 plastic pieces, 16 character cards, and so much more.
