Ogden School District is happy to offer excellent educational and extracurricular opportunities at every school. The district works hard to create an environment conducive for student learning and development through multiple programs. One of these programs is the Ogden United Promise Neighborhood delivered in collaboration with United Way of Northern Utah. This program is offered at multiple school locations, each with the support of a community school coordinator working right at the school. Ogden School District’s community school coordinators are integrated into the school leadership teams and student and family events.
Community school coordinators help to enhance the flow of communication between schools and the community. Through this communication, coordinators are able to incorporate programs that are helpful to students and families. Community school coordinators meet with students and families to identify unmet needs in areas like food, housing, transportation, financial literacy, taxes, health, and social needs.
Community partners work with families in a safe and sensitive environment to help find long term solutions for the issues that many Ogden families struggle to overcome on their own. Programs are then put in place so that students can have the most successful school experience. Some of these programs include counseling, food and nutrition services, and more.
When students are able to get their basic needs met, they can thrive academically and have future success. To learn more about the opportunities and programs available for students in the Ogden School District, click here!
