March 9, 2017 – Washington, D.C. – Ann McNeill, one of the first female general contractors in the state of Florida, who is presently the owner and president of MCO Construction and Services, Inc., MCO Consulting, Inc., and Constructively Speaking, Inc. this past week was selected by The Conference of Minority Transportation Officials (COMTO) as one of their 10 outstanding women from all modes of the transportation industry.
Also the founder of two nonprofit organizations, the National Association of Black Women in Construction and the International Mastermind Association, McNeill will join with 9 other women this March 15, 2017 for the 6th Annual Celebrating Women Who Move the Nation Awards.
“As someone with over 40 years of experience in the Florida construction industry, I was one of the first female general contractors in the state,” said McNeill. “Even more important today, I am working to advance the rights of black girls and women working in the construction industry, and I am providing consulting services to pass on my construction knowledge. I thank COMTO for this prestigious recognition, and look forward to attending the monumental event next week in D.C.”
McNeill received her Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from Florida Memorial University, and her Master’s in Finance from Barry University. She is presently the owner and president of one of South Florida’s few African American female-owned construction companies.
The event will be held from 8AM until 11AM at the Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade Center. The event is designed to recognize the accomplishments and influence of today’s outstanding women in transportation.
