Houston, TX, USA – December 4, 2017 – Panorama Film & Art Academy has proudly announced that its Red Carpet Grand Opening will take place on Saturday, December 9th, 2017 from 5:00 to 9:00 PM. The State of the Art Film & Art Academy is making a global-minded approach to creative filmmaking and is offering a wide range of classes for the future filmmakers. From its Script to Screen Classes to its Production, Sound, 3D Animation, and Special Effects Classes. Each course is taught by an industry expert to create only the best filmmakers.
With the need to make the industry strong, Houston Worldfest film festival team, panorama china team, and Houston University gathered to build this program, committed to satisfy the market need, and to make a bridge between USA and China.
Panorama Film Academy teaches students how to draw inspiration from the world around them, by creating media productions that push boundaries, excite audiences and leave a mark in the global digital and cinematic media-scape.
“We offer art classes, vocal classes, stunt classes and also after-school programs to our students and we are welcoming everyone to participate our grand opening this coming weekend.” Said Marilyn Swick, the Program Director, while talking about the academy’s programs. “We will also provide film and acting camps along with an International Semester Program to educate the passionate filmmakers of the future. Students of ages 4 and up are welcome to get enrolled in the academy.” She added.
The teaching staff, alumni, and students at the academy share a common worldview that filmmaking as a profession keeps evolving to meet the challenges and undercurrents of global cinema today. The staff team is made up of passionate individuals who have worked in media and production for over 30 years, and it comprises of 50 dedicated individuals with a combined experience of 130 years.
Furthermore, the academy will also offer international semester programs in addition to its weekly classes and monthly workshops.

About Panorama Film & Art Academy
Jiang (Ray) Rui is the founder of Panorama Film and Art Academy. Ray is also a modern artist, president of the American Chinese Artists Association, chairman of the China unit at the Worldfest Film Festival. He graduated from Lu Xun Academy of Fine Arts in the 90’s then came to the United States in 1996 to study. He received a full scholarship in 1998 and a master’s degree from Saint Thomas University in 2002. In recent years, he has successfully co-hosted the Houston Worldfest Film Festival and launched the unit “Panorama China.” By 2017, dozens of films have been exhibited in the United States. This has set a very good international platform for China’s film culture to go global. It is his mission to bridge China and Houston film-makers in this state-of-the-art film academy.
Marilyn Swick’s passion for acting began in Columbus, Ohio as a teenager and the rest is history. She currently serves as the Program Director for the Panorama Film & Art Academy. She is a proud SAG-AFTRA actor and an accomplished award-winning producer, director, writer, and acting coach. She shares her time between Houston and Burbank. Marilyn attended the New York Film Academy and earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Liberal Arts from Georgetown University in Washington, DC. She is a long-standing member of Women in Film and Television Houston and Los Angeles, most recently serving on the Executive Board of WIFT-H as Vice-President.
