“Everyone who has earned their pinkbelt will wear them at this demonstration being donated by the American Martial Arts Institute to entertain everyone who participated in the walk,” said the spokesperson of the American Martial Arts Institute while talking about the upcoming walk. “We have created this inspiring community program in collaboration with the American Cancer Society’s Utica office and local martial arts expert Grandmaster Clifford Crandall. According to the spokesperson, the program is designed for students to increase cancer awareness and earn their pinkbelts.
According to the institute and the society, this program is one of the best ways to combat fear of cancer and the pinkbelt program is all about raising awareness and increasing knowledge. Moreover, students who earn their pinkbelt will also receive a custom made certificate to hang in their home or office. The walk will start at 11 am and all the details regarding the program and participants are also available on the website. In addition, there is a free program packet for any agency who wants to implement the program themselves.
In addition, several local businesses have also collaborated with Crandall to support the first ever Children’s Tent at the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk. The tent will include animals from the Utica Zoo, free food, a DJ, games, Paw Patrol, and more. The tent will be staffed by adult volunteers from the American Martial Arts Institute, including professional doctors and teachers.
