Poetry and Prose for Self-Discovery and Empowerment by Sarah F. Wilburn

Poetry and Prose for Self-Discovery and Empowerment by Sarah F. Wilburn

EASTPOINT, Ga. – “Reflections of Me- Living Life Experiences” penned by Sarah F. Wilburn is a collection of short stories written in poetry style about a reflection that will inspire your journey to self-discovery.

Wilburn’s narrative goes beyond self-empowerment. It is both propelling and life-changing. They inspire. They educate and motivate you to move forward. It speaks about wholesome well-being and self-acceptance.

In this collection, she bares her soul, sharing stories of family, loved ones, and dreams that have shaped her. The poems are short yet impactful, like windows into her past and reflections on life’s fleeting moments.

She writes:

“As I look in the mirror, what do I see?
I see myself looking back at me.
Do I like the person that I see?
No, I want to change from me to thee.”

The emotions expressed within these pages range from witty to melancholic, inviting readers to discover their own pieces within her words. The book explains why self-esteem is an essential requirement for a healthy body, mind, and personality, and suggests practical ways for nurturing it.

“Reflections of Me- Living Life Experiences” is a highly recommended book for mental health professionals, teachers, and parents who wish to empower themselves and others with a definite sense of self.

Her enigmatic poems pleasantly invite readers to know that they are more than what they think themselves to be. The author explains how normal it is to feel unworthy and ‘low’ at times. The short stories in this narrative poetry are about life experiences such as; looking in the mirror, self-image, blind fate, family reunions, “isms” of the world, friendships, my way of thinking, testing the trials of life, communications, betrayal, beware of the snares, math problems of everyday life, “As Is” and more of life experiences that everyone can relate to at some point and time in their past, as they look in the mirror and reflect upon their life.

The author offers some meaningful strategies to accept our inner critic and use it to embrace our ‘imperfect’ life in the best possible way.
