Question and Answer With The Artist
How did you start in the music business?
I’m 11 years old. I started by releasing my first single when I was 9.
How would you describe the music that you typically create?
I like to create music that is upbeat and has a positive message in the lyrics. I want people to feel good when they listen to my music.
What is the current project about?
“I’m Fire” is a single about a day in my life. Starts with waking up, going to get soccer shoes, hanging out with friends, and having fun. The deeper message is about believing in yourself and seeing yourself in a positive light.
How do you feel it will inspire others?
When people listen to my music, I think they will feel good about who they are. I think my music shows people that you can find joy in the simple things, like playing soccer, going to the beach, going to the skate park – and still living a very valuable life.
What is your creative process like?
Most times I come up with ideas for lyrics or sounds, then I work with my dad to start writing lyrics for a full song or working
out the melody on the piano. We usually come up with a complete song
based on an idea that we build off of, like the hook or a chorus.
Who would you most like to collaborate with?
BLACKPINK or maybe Ariana Grande or Christina Aguilara.
If you could go open a show for any artist who would it be?
BLACKPINK
What is one message you would give to your fans?
You got this. You can do it. Don’t let the world bring you down.
What is the most useless talent you have?
I never lose in a staring contest.
Do you sing in the shower? What songs? What would you be doing right now, if it wasn’t for your music career?
Yes, I sing in the shower. Doesn’t everyone? I sing everything. If it wasn’t music, it would be acting.
Where have you performed? What are your favorite and least favorite venues?
I’ve performed in open parks and at a few small venues. The largest
venue was actually just a few days ago. It was a huge convention center
in front of around 6,000 people. The team was amazing and the experience
was crazy! I don’t think I’ll ever forget that one.
Do you have any upcoming shows?
Nothing specific to my music yet.
How do you feel the Internet has impacted the music business?
I think there’s a lot more information and opportunities available now, but I also think there’s a lot more noise that makes it harder to find your fans.
What is your favorite song to perform?
My own!
What is the most trouble you’ve ever gotten into?
I don’t get into trouble.
