New York, NY – April 2, 2019 – Over the weekend, COA offered a preview of its 2019 Charity Gala, “Spring Rhapsody”, which will be held on Sunday April 7th. The exhibition featured 12 artists from China and the US, representing both established powerhouses as well as rising stars worthy of the Big Apple. Drawing upon her extensive experience in curating and designing interdisciplinary projects and events in Europe, China, and North America, Art Director Liang Hai has worked ceaselessly to bring together a visually diverse exhibition depicted by a wide variety of medium and forms all connected by a central theme – the celebration of spring and rebirth.
Among the new and creative artists, COA Foundation is proud to feature Chenlin Cai, who has combined his traditional training as a classical artist and his unorthodox use of paint on non-traditional materials to create a unique distinctive painting style which is quickly being noticed by critics and collectors alike.
This year, COA Foundation is honoured to present the work of Margaret Yang, who at six years old has already taken the Chinese art world by storm with a style which demonstrates a maturity far beyond her years. Having been trained by Chinese legends Zhuang Tianming and Wu Shan, she is poised to become an artistic master of her own right.
Overall, the show was a resounding success, indicative of the amount of support COA Foundation has been able to garner not just from artists, sponsors and institutions in New York, but all around the world.
This is the first time COA Foundation is hosting a charity auction in the New York area, and will be well attended by hundreds of leaders in art, politics, and business.
“We are excited to host Spring Rhapsody in New York, one of the major centers of art in the world,” says COA Foundation Chair Cathy Hu, “We look forward to not only featuring the artwork of so many supportive artists, but also letting more people know about COA Foundation and the important mission that we carry out on a daily basis.”
Gala proceeds will support the continued operation of the COA Foundation, which since 2015 has helped thousands of new immigrants acclimatize to America with language and cultural classes. COA Foundation has also amassed a network of hundreds of Chinese volunteers that regularly hold online and offline activities.
Spring Rhapsody will be held on April 7th at the Bay Room, located on the 60th floor at 28 Liberty. Tickets can be purchased in advance at Eventbrite.
