Los Angeles, CA, USA – July 4, 2023 – Karen M. Rosner is a unique and gifted writer, a transplant heart recipient, and helped found Your New Lease on Life Foundation, which helps other transplant recipients. Rosner, born and raised with six brothers and one sister, is one of eight children who grew up in Massachusetts. From birth, Rosner had a severe heart condition, and her home away from home was Boston Children’s Hospital. After several surgeries, a transplant, and earning a bachelor’s and master’s degree, she became a Social worker and is now a first-time author. Her book, “My 12 Hours Aren’t Up Yet,” is currently available on Amazon for pre-orders with a release date of July 11, 2023. When asked why she authored the book, Rosner says, “I wrote a book, have my own business, and started a non-profit to help other transplant patients. Besides that, my friend Lori kept telling me I needed to. In all seriousness, many people have said I should write a book based on my journey and challenges. I want to inspire others, not just transplant recipients, through my writing.”
Her motto, “Be inspired and not give up; you can do it,” kept her thriving, and now she lives as a role model to others. Dr. Melissa Caudle, bestselling author and media influencer, says, “It is so important when writing to translate your experiences, giving authenticity to fiction. I love the way Rosner uses her experience when writing. It makes the book captivating and engaging.” Rosner says, “My life experiences are a story of hope, perseverance, and courage. I hope others can find hope and resiliency through my words.”
ABOUT THE BOOK
Karen has lived through trials and tribulations since the day she was born. From a tender age, she endured innumerable surgeries because of her heart condition, and later, she fought through the many struggles associated with marriage, love, divorce, loss… and a miracle baby they said wasn’t possible. Yet those very challenges ultimately drove her to start her own business- a business that now helps others recover from such experiences.
Surviving and thriving with a chronic illness that almost took her life several times, Karen has always transformed her health challenges into learning opportunities. And this means she is never afraid of jumping out of an airplane (not once, but three times!) or repelling off a forty-story building in Hawaii.
And they said she would only have twelve hours to live after one of her major surgeries! Clearly, her twelve hours aren’t up yet.
