The book, although is fiction, it reflects certain aspects related to the author’s own experiences. The story conveys a beautiful message that loneliness can be overcome when one is enveloped by nature, and that life experiences are journeys rather than destinations; it is the journey that matters more than the destination.
The colorful illustrations depict and justify the story in an intriguing manner to hold on the reader’s interest. The author, T.C. Naick was born in South Africa and spent most of his life living in Kwazulu Natal. The author has a passion for nature, environmental education, gardening and angling. He has a Master of Education degree specializing in Environmental Education, and he has attended Childrens’ Environmental Conferences in USA and Japan. He is a globe-trotter and is presently teaching Science and Visual Arts at Tehama International School in Saudi Arabia.
