The Alpine Union School District is continuing to cultivate learning and creativity during the Covid-19 school closures. With distance learning taking place, teachers and students are entering new and different realms of teaching and learning. Alpine Union is working to keep kids engaged and creative through virtual means.
Once a week, Alpine Union hosts a range of virtual fun days, including Mystery Monday, Tuesday Tidings and Teachings, and Virtual Fun Friday to boost student’s spirits and promote positivity. Each Friday has a different creative dress-up theme for students and teachers. Some of these themes have included:
Alpine PJ Day – Students, teachers, and staff all wore pajamas all day to come together as a community and have some fun.
Breakfast Club: Everyone in the district had a good time and ate good food while submitting pictures of their chef skills on social media.
Dance Party: The district had a virtual dance party, and students, teachers, and staff posted their best moves.
Disney Day: Alpine Union students and staff wore their best Disney gear to make learning at home magical.
Superhero Day: To thank the countless health care workers, first responders, grocery employees, and all other essential personnel students dressed up as their favorite superhero and posted pictures with thank-you signs.
Each virtual fun Friday the community is able to come together and focus on supporting one another and cultivating joy in learning even during difficult times. The Alpine Union School District will continue to support students and families in any way that they can. To learn more about current programs and events at Alpine Union, visit the district website!
