The Children’s Sunshine Foundation To Host 1st Annual Charity Golf Tournament

The maiden charity event is meant to help the foundation raise funds for setting up another worry-free accommodation, to help ease the burden on families traveling for medical treatment

The Children’s Sunshine Foundation is pleased to announce the upcoming launch of its annual Charity Golf Tournament, scheduled for the 16th of May 2022.

Founded by David and Nicole Rhodes, the 501c3 nonprofit charity organization provides worry-free accommodations for families who have to travel far from their homes to access medical care for their ailing children.

According to the children’s charity, the rising cost of medical bills makes it almost impossible for parents to adequately handle paying for treatments while dealing with hotel bills and transportation costs.

As such, The Sunshine Children’s Foundation has stepped in to ease the burden on these families, by providing them with free access to fully functional accommodations, so they can focus on the more important task of recovery.

“The Children’s Sunshine Foundation was founded on the premise that LOVE can cure ALL.  We are focused on providing a home away from home for families that have to travel for medical treatment so they can rest, recover and renew, Together”.

Lately, the foundation’s focus has been on families impacted by Congenital Diaphragmatic Herniation (CDH). The condition is a birth defect in babies, where the diaphragm does not develop fully. As a result, abdominal organs such as the stomach and intestines, find their way into the chest cavity and affect the development of both lungs and possibly even the heart.

While CDH has a national survival rate of 50% in the USA, 98% of babies who receive care from the local CDH Unit have been reported to beat the disease and go on to live full lives.

The Children’s Sunshine Foundation intends to open more worry-free locations in St Petersburg, Florida, to care for these families who have to spend a minimum of 90 days at the local CDH Unit.

Scheduled to take place at the Bayou Country Club 7979 Bayou Country Club Blvd Largo, FL, the charity golf event will follow a Four-Person Scramble, 18 holes format, with the price set at $600/foursome and $175/single.  Sponsors for the event are providing FREE beer, bloody marys, cigars, lunch and dinner.
