Writer Dragana Gaisi-Buhl’s new book The Desperate Daughter: True and Tall Family Tales is another masterpiece of fiction and fantasy. The writer captivates the imagination and heart of the reader through her new book. The book made it to the shelves on 24th August 2021.
The story begins in Vršac, a wealthy town within the Austro-Hungarian Empire. The protagonist Draga is captivated by the belief that true love awaits her. She rejects countless men who compete for her hand in an arranged marriage. Her parents host prominent bachelors in the salon of the Todorović mansion. But years pass without any success, and with her refusal to fulfil their expectations, the couple is furious.

When she was twelve, Dragana Buhl was separated from her family in Belgrade, Yugoslavia. She flew alone to the United States and settled in Orchard Park, NY. She completed college, raised four children as a single mom. Dragana Buhl is a happy retired teacher of children with special needs. Along the way, she overcame many challenges with God’s help.
The writer currently resides in New York City, where she enjoys the arts and celebrations with her large blended family and friends. Her favorite things to do are attending church, travelling, exploring places of antiquity, reading, writing, swimming, gardening, and sewing.
