The Langdon Center is excited to announce the introduction of Hair Restoration with PRP procedures at their Guilford, CT cosmetic surgery office. Hair Restoration with PRP is an effective procedure for men and women with thinning of their hair, pattern alopecia and various forms of hair loss who have not found success with over-the-counter products.

During a PRP procedure, a patient’s blood is drawn into a special collection tube; the tube is then put into a machine called a centrifuge, which separates the blood cells from the plasma. The plasma, rich in platelets, is then injected directly into the areas of the scalp where hair loss is occurring. Dr. Langdon uses the Selphyl PRP system, which activates a fibrin matrix at the site of PRP injection. The fibrin matrix holds the platelets in place for a prolonged period, maximizing the release of growth factors in the vicinity of the hair follicles.
