Little Creek, DE, USA – November 09, 2017 – The Veterans Watchmaker Initiative Inc. has announced that it will be teaching the highly skilled art of watchmaking to the US war veterans. Moreover, the inspiring initiative will focus particularly on the disabled veterans because all of its training programs are absolutely free of cost for disabled veterans. The motive for the program is to create job opportunities and helping veterans to find work and the organization is welcoming people to generously donate in this inspiring and life changing cause.
“We give our veterans a skill set that will take them out of the social security room and back into being employed and they set your own course, no matter what their disability is,” said Sam Cannan, Chairman of Board and Co-Founder of The Veterans Watchmaker Initiative, while talking about the initiative. “We are basically helping in creating jobs for the veterans in the United States and we are warmly welcoming donors as well as philanthropists to take advantage of this opportunity,” he added.
VWI Inc. is conveniently located in the Odessa Center for horological Excellence at 307 Sixth Street in Odessa, Delaware. This is the location where former EMT building was renovated by the chairman himself along with many other volunteers. In addition, the facility in Middletown is 3 miles away and will be able to handle 54 students in residence with full living quarters for both men and women vets, kitchen, dining hall, library, 3 classrooms, Micro mechanics lab, cleaning room and polishing room as well as a full gym.
According to the Chairman, once the Middletown facility is online the Odessa site will become a full time sheltered workshop for approximately 15 to 20 full time technical staff doing assembly and warranty work for outside companies. Moreover, two portable buildings have already been donated for this cause and more details regarding the project are available online.
The primary purpose of this initiative taken by VWI is to repay the sacrifice and services of veterans by teaching them high demand and well-paid profession. The cooperation is set up to provide training and support to the disabled veterans that came back from the war by offering them a new career path. Moreover, VWI is offering 14 months Watchmakers Program under which the graduate will get intensive watch repair training and 6 weeks Watch Technician Program that will make him capable for entering the job market as a quartz watch technician.
