THREE-TIME WINNING WESTERN, ‘HICKOK’, SADDLES UP FOR NETHERLANDS RELEASE – JAN. 2019

“HICKOK // TRICOAST WORLDWIDE”
“‘HICKOK’ will prove appealing to the sort of older filmgoer who complains that ‘they don’t make ‘em like that anymore’,” wrote The Hollywood Reporter.

Los Angeles, CA – January 12, 2019 – From HBO’s ‘Westworld’ to the Wild West, Superstar Luke Hemsworth comes guns blazing for One2See Movies’ Hans Kok and Just Entertainment Brands’ Dick Van Vloten Netherlands release of ‘HICKOK’ (2017) on Jan. 22nd

“Following in the footsteps of such actors as Gary Cooper, Jeff Bridges and Sam Elliott, among many others, the burly Hemsworth proves more than credible with his portrayal of the iconic gunslinger, the sort of archetypal Western character,” wrote The Hollywood Reporter.

Directed by four-time Western winner, Timothy Woodward Jr. (Traded, Gangster Land, The Final Wish), HICKOK is loosely based on real events of the iconic gunslinger during the 1870s. Academy Award nominees, Kris Kristofferson (Songwriter, 1984) and Bruce Dern (Coming Home, 1978 and Nebraska, 2013) are in the saddle to accompany Hemsworth on the wild, action-filled ride through the Wild West.

“[Wild Bill] No one can run forever, son. You quit, you surrender, they’ll dog your heels till the day you die. But not if you face it.” – George Knox, played by Kris Kristofferson.

Written by Michael Lanahan (Perfect Target, Raspberry Heaven), Woodward Jr.’s frontier-actioner collides the worlds of the Old West to present day with story of legendary lawman and gunslinger, Wild Bill Hickok (Luke Hemsworth), one of the Wild West’s greatest legends. But, Wild Bill’s ‘best in the west’ reputation is challenged when he attempts to bring peace and tame the small yet violence-ridden town of Albilene, Texas as their Marshal. While delivering his own brand of frontier justice, the infamous gunfighter’s reputation as the fastest draw in the West is put to the test. If Wild Bill wants to keep this peace – he’ll have to draw and shoot faster than before.

“Hemsworth, forgoing the long locks and mustache normally associated with his real-life character, invests his portrayal with doses of entertaining humor. He receives solid support from the veteran cast: Kristofferson exudes effortless gravitas; Adkins, who’s made acting in Westerns a steady side gig from his country music career, uses his endlessly deep voice to effectively menacing effect; and Dern […who] amusingly provides the effect of a modern-day Walter Brennan,” wrote The Hollywood Reporter.

Released in the USA and Canada on July 7th, 2017, HICKOK has received several accolades. Achieving success at the 2016 Home Media Magazine Awards, HICKOK was awarded Best Disc of a Western and at the 2018 Young Entertainer Awards for Best Leading Young Actor – Feature Film, to Hunter Fischer. Fischer is a 2-time winning and 6-time nominated actor best known for roles in Traded (2016), American Violence (2017) and Netflix’s Glow (2017).

Since, HICKOK has continued worldwide success with Blu-Ray and DVD premiere releases in Germany (Nov. 2017), Sweden (Dec. 2017) and France (April 2018). And finally, One2See Movies’ Hans Kok and Just Entertainment Brands’ Dick Van Vloten will release the action-packed Westerner to the Netherlands on Jan. 22nd, 2019.
