TRIUMPH OF MODERN INDEPENDENT CINEMA: ‘SOFTNESS OF BODIES’ NOW AVAILABLE ON DIGITAL STREAMING PLATFORMS

“Stylish, tense, incredibly well acted, exquisitely produced, ‘SOFTNESS OF BODIES’ is a triumph and a poetic evocation of a lost generation.” – BRWC.

Los Angeles, CA – May 1, 2019 – Jordan Blady’s debut feature, ‘SOFTNESS OF BODIES’ is now available on various digital platforms. Watch it on Amazon today: https://amzn.to/2VFyQ6r.

From One Can Pictures, Zak Films and Studio Saboteur, SOFTNESS OF BODIES follows Charlotte “Charlie” Parks (Dasha Nekrasova), a kleptomaniac American poet bicycling her way through the streets of Berlin, searching for inspiration and recognition for her poetry.

“The cinematography is wonderful, as well, casting Berlin in a faded nocturnal glow, giving a timeless, worn quality to what unfolds,” wrote BRWC.

When Charlie finally learns she is a finalist for a prestigious poetry grant, she must write an award-winning poem while also balancing relationships, facing a rival poet and her propensity for theft. As if her world wasn’t complicated enough, Charlie’s dangerous case of kleptomania catches up with her – leading to an arrest for shoplifting, constant financial woes and a mysterious pair of missing designer shoes. Struggling to find money and the words for her poetry submission, Charlie scrambles to maintain a life she barely wants – one with a laundry list of self-made troubles that keep her from artistic success.

“Jordan Blady’s poetic, cinematic, steamy, sleazy, tawdry, wonderful debut ends with Charlie reading her poem to the grant board, an original composition of Dasha Nekrasova’s, who supplied all the film’s poetry. It reads like a laundry list of all the happy things that money can buy – lilacs and silks and cuts of red, marbled meat. It reads like a litany of desire, and ends with a shrug,” continued BRWC.

Evoking compelling moments of dark humor, SOFTNESS OF BODIES is an unpredictable character drama. Led by Dasha Nekrasova (Wobble Palace, Green and Red), “SOFTNESS OF BODIES is a triumph of modern independent cinema – dark and brooding with a quiet sense of humor – and it’s available now,” wrote CDS. Watch it today on various digital streaming platforms (Amazon, InDemand, Vimeo on Demand, DirecTV, FlixFling, Vudu, FANDANGO, Hoopla + Sling/Dish).

Alongside Nekrasova, SOFTNESS OF BODIES features Morgan Krantz (CHIPS, series: New Girl and Girls), Nadine Dubois (Goodbye Berlin, 37), Alex Tschernek (Free Rainer, Slumming, Hannah Arendt), Lena Reinhold (Nos Petites Morts, Die Turnerin), Johannes Frick (Artist in Residence), Matthias Renger and Moritz Vierboom.
