He is a highly-trained and qualified ophthalmologist with a vast expertise inall facets of his work, including the treatment of glaucoma and other diseases of the eye. Dr. Vocci has been practicing for over twenty-one years and is currently serving patients at Lake Eye Associates at their four office locations in Tavares, Leesburg, Lady Lake, and The Villages, Florida. Furthermore, he embraced the academic side of his profession through his role as Courtesy Clinical Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology at the University Of Florida School Of Medicine. Dr. Vocci has hospital privileges at Villages Regional Hospital in The Villages, Florida, Florida Hospital Orlando in Orlando, Florida, and Florida Hospital Waterman in Tavares, Florida.
Dr. Vocci attended the University Of Maryland School Of Medicine in Baltimore, Maryland, and was awarded his doctor degree of medicine and PhD in pathology in 1986. He went on to Union Memorial Hospital where he was an intern and then to Sinai Hospital of Baltimore where he completed his residency training and was Chief Resident. Dr. Vocci then joined the Department of Ophthalmology at Johns Hopkins Hospital for his ophthalmology and eye pathology fellowship. He holds board certification in ophthalmology from the American Board of Ophthalmology and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology. Dr. Vocci keeps current in his field through his professional memberships with the Florida Medical Association and the Lake Center Medical Society. He feels that he owes his success to his curiosity and his desire to know how things work. He is in a terrific field and he always stays up to date because medicine is always changing and improving. He dedicates his spare time to playing golf, fishing, and physical fitness.
