The team at WAFU, led by the forward-thinking Jacob Williams, is reiterating their commitment to delivering the best possible experience to crypto enthusiasts worldwide, as the project announces plans to launch its debut NFT collection. The collection, which is minted on Hedera Token Service, will be the first in a series of blockchain projects in the WAFU ecosystem, which will include a game, a NFT marketplace and a utility token.
“Simplest and easiest way to digest what WAFU is, would be to think modular. So WAFU consists of NFT drops of waifus/anime characters that will be used as funding for our game and gated/curated anime NFT platform. As well as our tokens WAFU and SAFU.” – Jacob Williams
The NFT craze is booming, with millions of people joining the trend and making loads of profits. According to a report by Emergen Research, the global Non-fungible Token (NFT) market size was valued at $50.10 Billion in 2021, with a projection that it will hit $130.35 billion by 2030, driven by increasing demand for digital artworks. Despite the amazing success of the market, the lack of quality arts continues to ravage the market, leading people to focus on computer generated, generic artwork. However, Jacob Williams seeks to change this narrative while also meeting the demand for the use of a carbon negative solution such as Hedera, as he launches the WAFU project.
WAFU will deliver the much-needed quality-driven NFT project on the Hedera network, with Jacob putting together an all-star team, including himself as a long time anime fan and NFT collector, Babaw of Lazy Superheroes and Peter Uliano, the former co-founder of GoMint and the founder of Hbar News, to create a one-of-a-kind ecosystem.
WAFU is set to launch their debut collection on May 5th, 2022, on Zuse.Market, an NFT marketplace on Hedera. Jacob Williams also revealed upcoming plans, including but not limited to exclusive 1 of 1 artwork, animated cards and a game in the works.
“Well first off, we have amazing 1/1 Art that’s not generative, each one is an original character thought up between our artists and myself. So every Waifu is very personal in that way. Not saying waifu generatives are bad, they have come a long way but there is a certain charm to art that is made top to bottom with purpose in mind. So I believe that is a huge differentiator in this PFP (Profile Pic) madness. Secondly is the fact that our goal, as seen on our milestone graphics is to develop a game using these custom characters on iOS/Android.”
