Warren Garrett and his team at God’s Chosen Ones look set to chart a new course in the treatment of substance abuse and addiction as the recovery home introduces seemingly unconventional methods of helping people overcome addiction. The non-profit seeks to leverage the years of experience of Warren Garrett managing a recovery house for men after he realized that the subsistent system was counterproductive with many becoming homeless after leaving the recovery house and returning to their past ways.
Millions of people in the United States and other parts of the world continue to struggle with addiction and substance abuse. Unfortunately, the number keeps rising and while several initiatives have been in place to reduce the ugly statistics, very little seems to have been achieved over the years. The case is not particularly different in Pennsylvania, with many of the recovery homes not following up to ensure that their patients do not relapse. However, Warren Garrett is looking to make a difference through God’s Chosen Ones.
The men’s transition home is adopting a unique approach to treating addiction by encouraging healing through inspiration and motivation, not force. The nonprofit promotes positivity, encouragement, accountability, and enlightenment to guide patients through the three stages of recovery and ensure they leave the facility as better people without having any reason to go back to their former life. God’s Chosen Ones also remains the only place in and around Pennsylvania that supports opioid maintenance medications, a move that resonates with the goal of making the world better and safer one individual at a time.
Warren Garrett, the founder and director of God’s Chosen Ones realized that those new to sobriety tend to fall back into the life they so desperately tried to escape and consequently decided to put up his own house, creating a Christian environment without any added pressure. Warren also aims to inspire people to reach their goals, considering the difficulty in finding a job after leaving a recovery home.
The team at God’s Chosen Ones aims to inspire the uninspired through fellowship and community, coaching and motivation from those who have already seen success.
