English-German writer Jesse Klaus Alexander Short of Cairns AU is seeking AU$3000 ($2,289 USD) in pledges by May 3 to launch his new dystopian series concept called, Wayfarer. With 31 days to go in his Kickstarter pledge drive, Short has collected no pledges to aid in his endeavor.
“This project has been a year in the making, gone through several edits, two of those professional, which have improved on quality, character and structure.” Short stated. “I have financed these and have also commissioned several artworks, single page pieces, which are designed to complement the character-driven stories.”
Short holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Literature in Literature and is an international teacher, having spent three years in Africa and Indonesia. He has been a part-time published writer for a number of years, having published a number of items in local magazines and several online publications. He has been putting a lot man-hours into his Wayfarer project in hopes of getting the project published this year.
“The collection is something I have been wanting to put together for a while,” Short stated. “It is a showcase of my writing talents which originally began as a series of speculative short stories and has now grown into two tantalizing novelettes and two epic novellas.”
There are five levels of pledges with rewards valued between AU$ 5 ($4 USD) to AU$ 30 ($23 USD). Rewards include a signed copy of the dystopian adventure, a copy of some of the artwork, and more.
“I am raising funds to cover the expenditure I have already paid, but also am looking for the means to promote Wayfarer and obtain some printed copies as well,” Short said. “If you can support me, I’d be grateful for your pledge!”
Wayfarer, a sci-fi collection of short novellas and novelettes is almost finished, according to Short, except for a little more “tweaking.” The story concept is a futuristic dystopian setting, wit some of the scenes and characters based roughly on the author’s travels. He has already spent some of his money on promoting Wayfarer, and has been talking about it on his Facebook Business page.
“I guess there is the risk if it will sell or not.” The project is tentatively scheduled to be underway by May of this year, the scheduled time for delivery of the pledge rewards.
