The book reflects the experiences Zile Singh had in his life from overcoming challenges and obstacles that life put in his way to succeeding and becoming the person he is today. Everything has been summarized in the form of essays for the readers to gain insightful information, for example on life and death; freedom and hope; anger and humility, and more.
Zile Singh was born in June 1949 in a poor share-croppers family in a small village named “Pinana” in Haryana (India). Before him, nobody in his family had seen a classroom door. Despite his scrawny physique and weak eyesight, he was good at studies. He joined government service as a clerk after passing his Matriculation Examination with flying colors from Punjab University in Chandigarh.
Today, he is a proud father of a son living in Vancouver and two daughters living in Singapore and U.K. On top of everything, poetry holds a special place in his life which is reflected in his book. In the Indian Foreign Service, he served in different capacities in 9 countries, including UK, Canada, Afghanistan and North Korea.
